Packaging video review Finasteride 5 mg Balkan Pharmaceuticals
Finasteride is a 5th editase inhibitor, which is an enzyme responsible for converting testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. This drug is able to significantly reduce the serum concentration of dihydrotestosterone, thereby reducing the undesirable androgenic effects caused by its presence. It works quickly, One 1 mg tablet reduces the concentration of dihydrotestosterone by 65% in 24 hours. For medical purposes, this drug is used to treat two diseases. Finasteride was originally manufactured in the United States under the name Proscar and was used in patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). Recently (in December 1997), finasteride was approved for the treatment of baldness. Now there is another trade name for the drug Propecia, which is the same drug, but only one tablet contains 1/5 of the dose of Proscar. For a long time, scientists believed that the cause of male pattern baldness was only dihydrotestosterone (along with genetic factors), so after the release of Proscar, they had almost no doubt that finasteride would be used for this purpose. This was a breakthrough for men suffering from baldness.
Due to its specific nature, finasteride does not have much effect on other hormones in the body. It is not bound to the androgen receptor and does not have androgen, antiandrogenic, estrogenic or anti-estrogenic properties. It should not affect the level of cortisol, a Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone, or Thyroxine, and should not alter the level of high-or low-density Alpha-lipoprotein cholesterol. Changes in luteinizing or follicle-stimulating hormones are insignificant, this drug does not affect the hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular system. In a small number of cases, a decrease in dihydrotestosterone levels caused sexual disorders. Although complaints were frequent, this problem can be quickly resolved by stopping taking the drug. Interestingly, finasteride increases testosterone levels by 15%, since more androgen is not changed by the enzyme editase.
Proscar / Propecia has great potential for athletes who use steroids. As you know, the dihydrotestosterone metabolite is the cause of undesirable androgenic events caused by testosterone intake. High levels of dihydrotestosterone, which accumulate in some tissues, cause phenomena such as oily skin, acne, body and facial hair growth, and baldness. By minimizing the production of dihydrotestosterone, we reduce many side effects and stabilize testosterone levels. In many cases, Proscar / Propecia can be combined with other steroids (testosterone esters such as Cypionate, Enanthate, Sustanon, etc.), Halotestin and methyltestosterone, which have a lower androgenic ability. Of course, do not forget that all steroids activate the androgen receptor. Although this drug reduces androgenic activity, there is no drug that can completely eliminate the appearance of side effects when taking steroids.
It should also be noted that finasteride blocks the type 2 enzyme 5A editase. There are 2 isoenzymes in the human body, type 1 and type 2. 5th editase type 1 prevails in the sebaceous glands of the skin. The enzyme 5-a editase type 2 is mainly found in the prostate and hair follicle (including). Although the type 2 enzyme is responsible for 2/3 of the dihydrotestosterone circulating in the body, a small amount of dihydrotestosterone can be produced in the body by the type 1 enzyme. Therefore, finasteride is effective for hair loss, and it fights acne and hair growth on the body and face worse (these are the departments where the type 1 enzyme acts). Of course, reducing serum dihydrotestosterone will have a beneficial effect on side effects. In any case, this is not the main problem, since men who take this drug are mainly concerned about baldness. From oily skin or hair growth on the back / shoulders, you can get rid of other means or just put up with it. Those who use medications know that these problems are temporary. And baldness can be a serious problem, often irreversible. It should also be remembered that testosterone, Halotestin, and methyltestosterone are the only hormones that are converted to stronger steroids by 5 – alpha editase. I believe that boldenone and methandrostenolone too, but only slightly. There may be other steroids that are converted to stronger metabolites by 5A reductase, but they are not currently popular.
In clinical practice, a single pill gives a strong effect. But if after some time the androgenic effect is too great, then you can increase the number of tablets per day or switch to Proscar (5 mg tablet). Proskar / Propecia are quite expensive drugs, and it is unprofitable to use them if the dose is increased. It may be best to keep the dosage at the minimum effective level.
In any case, when using this drug, you should follow the advice “Use Only if necessary.
